One of my favorite stories to tell about myself from when I was a kid is the story how my grandma’s “Catching Fairies” game was banned because of me

So when I was really little my grandma had this game she made up, she’d give me and all my cousins jars and containers and tell us that in her garden there were fairies but they were smart and tricky so they disguised themselves as caterpillars and butterflies and as grasshoppers and worms.

Whoever caught the most ‘Fairies’ won but we had to set them all free because they tended to the garden

One summer day my brothers were at the age they were dreading ‘girly’ stuff so I was playing alone

At this point I had met all the fairies in the garden and I was getting bored without any competition and with finding the same old fairies

But then just as I was begrudgingly heading back to my grandma with the same fairies as usual I found a new fairy!

I thought she was so beautiful! She was resting on the sparkly thread in the leaves and her black body gleamed in the sunlight, she had long legs and a cool red spot on her back

Excited I coaxed her onto my hand and was so giddy I found a new one! I rushed back to the farm house to show my Grandma and Dad, gently carrying my new friend.

But when my Dad and Grandma turned around to see what fairy I caught I saw the color drain from their faces and both of them freeze, I could tell something was wrong but didn’t understand

My dad congratulated me and asked me if he could see the pretty fairy, I let him but felt a little nervous seeing how terrified he looked as she moved into his hands from mine.

Slowly he walked back towards the door, my grandma clutching my shoulders then my dad LAUNCHED the fairy back into the garden which I thought was rather rude

Then we had a nice long talk about Black Widow spiders

Asriel: Oh, golly, no! Mum and dad aren't gonna execute you, silly!

Chara(grumbles): Well, why not?

Asriel: Oh...uh, sorry, what was that?

Chara: Oh, ...nothing important

(Chara thought the apparently terrifying monster king and queen would execute them for trespassing on their prophecy, of course... They will get that described hope in their eyes, but not just yet)

Does it look like Chara's swaying on their feet? Like they might have trouble keeping themself up without Asriel's help? Because that is what it's supposed to look like.

(Yes, I got a separate blog to post this on because I wanted to fulfill the drawings every day promise but I'd fulfilled the daily post limit)

Watching this again, it becomes incredibly clear in s3 that Nate is teaching Parker how to run her own crew. He fully anticipates that she will be his legacy, and more than anyone else---more than Sophie or Hardison, more than Eliot (though I would argue that Eliot never even slightly wanted it)---he is teaching her how to take over, think like he thinks and plan like he plans. He fumbles some of the emotional stuff, never actually tells her explicitly...but by the time you reach s3 he's clearly all-in. He's decided. Parker is going to be Nate 2.0, with different more exciting bugs than the 1.0 version.

I think some of you need to take a beat. I have some problems with the way Bix is written but her having a baby isn't one of them because it's not about legacy. It's about children being able to see that sunrise, having the freedom they deserve, and a better life for the children in SW. We literally see and hear about multiple orphans on this show (and the in the universe as a damn whole). We see flashbacks of Cass and Kleya as children being dealt horrific hands. Dedra is a fascist who gets what she deserves but she was raised by the system instead of her parents. We can go on and on.

The legacy spin you guys are going with makes so little sense to me because Cass has never brought up wanting to have a kid lmao there's nothing from his character that suggests caring about a legacy. so why would the audience cheer for this child as a symbol of legacy that this man never mentioned?? That's not what the script was going for, where are you guys getting this from?

Andor sort of ends on the same exact beat Rogue One does. Leia saying "Hope" and Bix and Cassians child being hope, the future, the reminder that this is what they're fighting for. The baby is so much bigger than "they made bix a baby maker wah." Narratively, it's just so much bigger than that but some of you are refusing to see that
